Illustration: Composite Images in Photoshop

Sometimes designers find the exact photograph on a stock site. Other times, the subject can be photographed without too much trouble. Then, there are the times when no singular image tells the story you are looking for.

A graphic or stylized illustration usually works, and I'm always ready to hire illustrators to do their magic. But when you're looking for the right balance of imagery in a publication or are increasing photographic elements across the board, this style of illustration can do the trick.

The only catch: Make sure to label the image as a composite. It can also help to stylize the art enough so that it can't possibly be seen as real.
